The most effective choice will always be the one made from a basis which is the most enabling of all other choices. In that the deeper emotions are the more affecting ones, they are also the most enabling ones. Ultimately, love is more enabling of choice than any other emotion.
Stages of Spiritual Unfoldment (generally speaking)
Circumstances<--->State of Being
- The Illusion of Choice We grow up being taught to focus on 'the world': Circumstances. We start to identify with it completely until we've lost track of the fact that on a more truthful level, what we really are is our state of being, not our circumstances. We start to manipulate and try to control life on the level of circumstances. We think we have choice, but largely we are at the whim of our conditioned reactions.
- Awareness of no Choice We learn about our state of Being which is ever present, and we let go more and more of our thoughts about 'the world' and concerns about our circumstances and our attempts to control everything on the level of circumstances. We loosen our identification with a static sense of self, and dive more into Being/Presence itself. We may even reject 'the world of form and choice' a little bit or a lot, and grow secretly afraid of the suffering that comes with the idea of being able to control your circumstances. So we prefer just sitting back and chilling as the witness for the rest of our life. Or so we think.
- Aware Choice Once we're 'recharged' through our re-discovery of our state of being, and by letting go more of the non-sensical energies of identifying with circumstances... we regain a new kind of energy. Let's call it inspiration, or bliss. We are now no longer afraid of meeting 'the world' again, albeit from a wholly different point of view. We wake up to our purpose, remember not only WHAT we are (as we did in stage 2) but also WHO we are as a state of being that chooses its vibrational reality.
So, is there choice? Should we choose? Yes - but not on the level of circumstances. Choose instead your state of Being, whenever you are aware enough and remember and feel inspired to choose: choose to be You. Your Authentic, preferred, resonant state of being. Your Bliss, Peace, Love, Excitement, Passion, Joy, Creativity, Confidence, etc. Don't worry about circumstances, don't choose your circumstances, choose instead your state of being.
