The perception that our modern mindset is particularly robust and has served us well may very well be tautological, given its foundations on notions that equate progress with complexification, and advance with predictability and control. – bonnitta-roy

I have tried to present an alternative point of view, one in which time is not linear, change is not advance, and where causal forces are not systems that de-animate their parts.
Neither progress, nor complexity, nor compounding evolutionary pressures can account for metamorphosis. Metamorphosis requires openings, and openings require the old form to be taken out of existence.
Appreciation is not the same as remembering. The difference for example, as between remembering the dead and appreciating them. One is hopelessly frozen and we feel the chill. The other continuously revitalizes us on our own journey.
