Minimum Viable Philosophy
What is a MVP?
"The term is borrowed from the business technique of having a "minimum viable product," creating the most basic product version, including only the essential features to satisfy early customers. Once the product meets the market, gather feedback and iterate. With a minimum viable philosophy, once one's current philosophy meets reality, gather feedback and iterate."
Think of an MVP as your personal manifesto. It is a document that is at the core of the philosophy that guides your actions. Everything you do should be in harmony with your MVP.
Things to consider including in your MVP:
- Your values. See the virtues exercise.
- Principles that guide you.
- Your positions on the main categories of philosophy: ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, aesthetics, politics, etc.
- Argumentation for your philosophical positions.
