Reasonabe building blocks
- Nullius in verba. The motto of the UK's national science academy, which means "take nobody's word for it". I invite you to play and test everything I say for yourself. That will lead to deeper understanding.
- Suspend disbelief. I adopt a direct, pragmatic approach here, but there are times it may still seem like woo. Give it a chance. If you immediately dismiss something then you are less likely to notice that there might be truth in it.
- Withhold definition: You may have experience in other traditions, or feel like something is immediately obvious. However, the thing you immediately think it is might not be what it actually is, so explore that 'uncertain' space for a little longer than you otherwise might
